Synopsis

Set in the underbelly of rural Pakistan, The Rooster and the Boy follows  Asif, a 14-year-old servant boy caught in an underground world of rooster fighting, child exploitation, and class brutality.

When his prized red rooster loses a fight and is marked for slaughter, Asif rebels — stealing the rooster and escaping into the night. Taken in by a blind ex-fighter named Adan, Asif trains to outsmart the ruthless system that enslaved him.

This is a story about rebellion, dignity, and the unbreakable bond between a boy and his bird.

From the Producer

This film is personal. Growing up in Pakistan, I witnessed many forms of silent injustice — especially among working-class children. The Rooster and the Boy is my response to that silence. It’s a story of rage, love, survival — and what it means to fight for something that can’t fight for itself.
